As part of a 24kW Generac generator project, we installed three of these units (Generac 7000 50 Amp Smart Management Module) to manage loads. Noticed that the oven was not working one morning, and we traced the problem back to this load shed module. The module serving our upstairs AC went out.

I have only done one 20 kw Generac and was not required to do a load calculation or shed loads. After reading the instructions online I believe I understand the AC loads.Bypass it for good and add a soft start on your AC unit. The SMM from generac are good for nothing but burning up. The SMM interrupts the 24 volt to the compressor contactor coil. Bypass the SMM and get your AC back up online.
