Since he was shot in 1970 his kidneys needed to be replaced and his brother was the donor of a kidney. David Barksdale did not live like he got a new kidney against doctor orders and now his health was declining. David Barksdale’s kidneys were slowly shutting down. David Barksdale succumbed to his illness and died on September 2nd, 1974.
